Pets are more susceptible to the additives that can be found in ordinary faucet water. Things like fluoride and heavy metals can cause allergic reactions in your pets. Instead of filling your pet's water bowl with ordinary faucet water, try switching to filtered or bottled water. Installing a filter system on your household faucet will improve the quality of the water that your pets are drinking.
Give Frequent Baths
Your pets spend the majority of their time very close to the ground. Allergens can build up in their fur. When that happens, their own fur may cause them to suffer from uncomfortable allergy systems. Giving your pet a weekly bath will remove the allergens that are making it difficult for your pets.
Cats naturally avoid water. You don't have to immerse your cat in water to remove the allergens from its fur. Simply get a cloth wet and wring it out to remove the excess water. Wipe your cat off with the damp cloth. Be sure to get around their ears and the soles of their feet. Wiping your cat off once a day will help keep your cat symptom free.
Vacuum Your Home
Your carpeting may be hiding the allergens that are making your pet miserable. Vacuum your home at least once a day to get rid of allergens like dust and pollen that might have gotten trapped in the carpet fiber.
